1. About the Service

Modern Matchmaker is a digital matchmaking platform operated by DRMA Tech (Delivering Reliable Modern Apps Tech OÜ), registered in Estonia. The service is global and offers a structured alternative to traditional matchmaking.

Matching is performed through automated curation using proprietary, data-driven algorithms. Filters and user preferences affect the number and type of suggestions available. The platform facilitates introductions between users based on compatibility; no specific outcomes, matches, or user behavior are guaranteed, and the platform does not endorse any user.

Moderation may be applied to enforce platform rules and community guidelines. The platform does not supervise or control interactions or meetings, and does not act as a guarantor for user safety or behavior.

2. Eligibility and Verification

This service is available only to individuals aged 18 or older, or the legal minimum age in their jurisdiction—whichever is higher. Accounts of underage users will be deleted without notice.

Identity verification is mandatory for all users before initiating or receiving interactions. Verification is performed by certified third parties (e.g., Didit) using official documents and liveness checks. Collected data is limited, stored securely, and processed only under applicable data protection laws for the period legally or operationally required.

Users must provide accurate and truthful information during registration and platform use. Personal data is processed according to our Privacy Policy.

Didit retains identity verification data for up to 6 months in active storage and up to 12 months in archive for legal defense, fraud prevention, or support purposes. After this period, data is irreversibly deleted or anonymized. Users may request earlier deletion where permitted by law.

Note: Identity verification does not guarantee user authenticity, intentions, or safety.

3. Account Management and Inactivity

Anyone may register for free and appear as a potential match. Only paying clients can initiate interactions, and all users must complete identity verification before any interaction. The platform may suspend or delete inactive accounts or those failing to comply with these Terms. Users can permanently delete their accounts and data through the platform’s privacy tools.

4. Sparks, Plans, and Payments

All interactions on Modern Matchmaker require Sparks — our virtual currency — purchased via one-time payments through our payment partners.

One-time purchases: Users buy a chosen token amount. Cancellation and refund terms are disclosed at the time of purchase and apply only as stated or as required by law.

Sparks have no monetary value, are non-transferable, and are non-refundable unless explicitly stated or required by law. They are solely a means to access platform features. Attempts to bypass Sparks controls or payment rules may result in account suspension.

Additional payment security measures (e.g., 3D Secure) may be implemented where required.

5. User Conduct

Publishing, sharing, or transmitting offensive, illegal, discriminatory, violent, threatening, defamatory, or sexually explicit content is strictly prohibited. Users must treat each other with respect.

All interactions are limited to matches generated by the platform. Automated and manual moderation may be applied to enforce rules and prevent abuse, harassment, or inappropriate content.

The platform may suspend or permanently delete accounts involved in fraud, impersonation, harassment, or other violations of these Terms without prior notice.

Users are prohibited from offering, requesting, or receiving any form of payment, gifts, or services directly from other users.

6. Content Moderation

Reports of inappropriate behavior are initially reviewed automatically, with manual moderation applied within 48 business hours if necessary. Sanctions may include warnings, suspensions, or permanent bans without refund. Repeated violations or attempts to bypass moderation may result in IP-level bans or legal action.

7. Security and User Responsibility

Modern Matchmaker provides reporting, blocking, and safety tools but cannot guarantee the identity, intentions, or actions of users on or off the platform. We do not conduct criminal background checks or independently verify user history beyond identity verification.

All interactions and decisions are at the user’s sole risk. Users acknowledge that interacting with new people involves inherent risks, including physical harm, financial fraud, trafficking, harassment, or other criminal acts, and assume full responsibility for such risks.

Meeting suggestions are accompanied by safety tips. Users are strongly encouraged to meet in public places and notify trusted contacts.

A feature allows users to register the date and approximate location of a planned meeting. This information may also be shared with friends or family if the user provides their email and consents. The platform does not monitor, supervise, or intervene in meetings. Data may be shared with authorities if legally required.

Where legally permitted, users agree to indemnify and hold harmless the platform and its operators against any claims, damages, or consequences arising from their actions on or off the platform.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, algorithms, branding, layouts, and technologies used in Modern Matchmaker are protected under the MPL-2.0 license or third-party licenses. Unauthorized use or redistribution is prohibited.

Third-party services include Stripe (payments), Didit (identity verification), HERE (location), and cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS). Each is governed by its own terms and licenses.

Anonymous, aggregated data may be used for internal analytics and service improvement.

User-submitted content (photos, bios, descriptions) remains the property of the user. By uploading content, the user grants Modern Matchmaker a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use content within the platform or for institutional promotional purposes. This license ends upon deletion of the account or content unless use is irreversible.

9. Modifications to the Terms

These Terms may be updated due to legal, technical, or operational changes. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes affecting user rights will be notified, and consent obtained when required by law.

11. Privacy and Data Law Compliance

The platform complies with major data protection laws including:

• GDPR (EU): Right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, and request data portability.
• LGPD (Brazil): Rights to confirm data processing, correct inaccuracies, request anonymization or deletion, and revoke consent.
• CCPA/CPRA (California): Rights to access, delete, opt-out of sale or sharing, and avoid discrimination for exercising rights.

Users are responsible for complying with local laws. Our practices follow global best standards for privacy and digital safety. Users may exercise their rights through account privacy tools or by contacting support@modern-matchmaker.com.

12. Law Enforcement Requests

We may preserve and disclose user data to law enforcement authorities when required by valid legal requests, including court orders, subpoenas, or equivalent legal processes.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by Estonian law. Users agree to resolve disputes through binding arbitration unless prohibited by law or criminal investigation. Legal disputes are handled in English under the exclusive jurisdiction of Tallinn courts, unless local law provides otherwise.

14. License to Use the Platform

Modern Matchmaker grants a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the platform per these Terms. Automated access, scraping, data mining, bots, or reverse engineering are prohibited.

Accounts may only be used by the registered individual. Commercial use, promotion, or solicitation of other users is forbidden.

15. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

Modern Matchmaker provides the service “as is” and “as available,” without warranties. Accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of content or user behavior is not guaranteed. Some jurisdictions may limit liability disclaimers.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, emotional distress, data loss, or personal injury resulting from interactions between users.

16. Legal Provisions

Force Majeure: Not liable for delays or failures due to events beyond control, including natural disasters, war, pandemics, government actions, infrastructure failures, or third-party service disruptions.

Assignment: We may assign rights and obligations under these Terms in case of merger, acquisition, or asset sale. Users may not transfer rights without written consent.

Class Action Waiver: Where enforceable, users agree to resolve disputes individually and waive participation in class actions or class arbitrations.
